Okay,
I've talked about the perks of teaching overseas, but good things can
happen when teaching in the good old US of A. One of those good things
was being selected for a NASA science teacher workshop. The first thing
that I learned when I took this summer workshop that NASA and the National
Science Teacher Association held for teachers was that NASA had a base
of operations in Cleveland, Ohio. I had no idea NASA was in the
Buckeye State!
We were wined, dined, and educated by the best of NASA. We participated in hands-on experiments like the egg drop (above right), linked up by satellite with similar groups, bought everything imaginable from the gift shop and even met a real rocket scientist. |
