Creating Original Opera

I must admit that the word "opera" almost scared me away from this workshop put on by the New York Metropolitan Opera at Princeton University.  However, International School Manila wanted to send one music teacher and a classroom teacher.  When I was personally sought out as the classroom teacher who should attend, I decided to give it a go.

It was a very kid centered concept where kids did everything.  It took six months for the students to write "Once Upon a Happy Client."   Then, they made the lights, designed the costumes and make-up, created the sets, advertised, and really came up with a production to be proud of.   They were all happy clients.
